Headstones in the UK

I regularly visit Cemeteries and churchyards throughout the UK to view the many varied Headstones and Memorial representing loved ones who have been lost to friends and families.

Granite Headstones are beautiful to look at and stand in contrast to other headstones on view such as Portland stone Headstones, York stone Headstones and Marble headstones.

Other fine examples found in Cemeteries throughout the UK are Granite Kerb Sets, Marble Kerb Sets and additionally, Children’s Kerb Sets. Some Cemeteries have Home and Garden sections for Cremation Memorials as well as Pet Memorials, Granite Vases and Marble Vases. Additionally Granite and Marble Bird Baths where ashes may be interred are also popular.

Cemeteries and Churchyards often have regulations that are geographically specific but still allow many different sizes and materials within them. Some Churchyards may have a Granite Ledger next to a bronze plaque which may be next to a Tablet which in turn may be next to a Mausoleum.

There are certainly many options as to the Memorial chosen to remember loved one’s throughout the country. Granite Kerb Sets and Granite Headstones would appear to be the most prolific memorial in Cemeteries in the south of the country. Marble headstones and Marble Kerb Sets would appear to be most popular in the north of the country. Children’s Kerb Sets are almost exclusively made out of Granite in the north however in the south Marble may be used for Children’s kerb Sets.

The choices are varied as to the memorial chosen in Cemeteries and Churchyards in the UK whether a Granite Headstone, Granit Kerb Set, Children’s memorial, Pet Memorial or memorial plaques, all are deemed to be fitting tributes to family members throughout history.
